Operating system for shop management
A system for planning, monitoring and analyzing working hours, productivity and costs in the retail chain.
System overview
Most retail chains have a large number of stores, employees and operational data, but without a single system that ties all that information into a meaningful whole.
The goal of this project was to build a central operating system that connects:
shift planning,
working time records,
employee productivity,
and real costs per facility.
The system enables the management to have a clear insight into the situation on the ground at all times and to make decisions based on data, not estimates.
Why it matters
In retail, labor costs and employee organization directly affect profitability.
Without a central system:
planning is manual,
the data is fragmented,
mistakes are noticed late,
and decisions are made based on feelings.
This system allows:
transparency,
cost control,
and realistic performance management by facilities.
Our approach
How we approached the problem
The project was started with a detailed analysis of real processes in shops:
- how shifts are planned,
- how attendance is recorded,
- how salaries are calculated,
- and how management monitors performance.
Based on that, the complete system architecture was designed.
Key parts of the system include:
- Central planning of shifts by facilities
- Records of arrivals, departures and absences
- Productivity monitoring per employee and store
- Analysis of labor costs by period
